An interesting topic came up on the AODA Yahoo site...Bats. A wonderful form of natural pest control, and certainly not deserving of the stigma that they've been branded with over the years.

Some of their pre-made houses (a bit pricey, methinks) are stuccoed so the bats can grip the surface better. I might suggest the pre-mixed latex stucco patch available hat hardware stores to coat a freshly constructed bathouse, should be the perfect semi-rough surface for the bats to grip.
