Very cool! I sure wish we had some oak trees here so I could try it out!
I once ate some raw acorns. My grampa told me they were edible, so I popped one in my mouth and chewed. It was pretty nasty. I was also sick to my stomach after. He neglected to mention that you had to do a lot to make them edible. But then, this is the guy that once came in with some ripe raw olives and told us kids they were plums. I shoulda known better.
